    Area for a Standard Normal Distribution Curve
    Hi everyone,

    The text book I have does not clearly define the table for me. I am not quite sure what the numbers represent lying at the top of the table horizontally. The book asked a question... Find the area underneath the standard normal distribution curve between z=0 and z=2.34. The answer they gave was to find 2.34 on the vertical line of numbers on the chart and .04 at the top. Where did they get .04?

    The .04 is obviously the hundredth position along the top of the chart.

    Find 2.3 down the left column and .04 along the top.

    If you wanted 1.57, you would find 1.5 along the column and .07 along the top.
