    Shoplifting in Jersey City
    Hi, I did shoplifting in Jersey City,NJ in Sephora I got caught then store manager called mall security they did checking I think I took things worth$20, I returned that ,one thing I paid, then manger took my sign on paper I don't know what form was that. Then took my Pic and license number and my address. I then Let me go. I was worried so called store manager next day. He said not to worry we are not going to press any charges I have to only pay fine. He said they will send me letter in couple months. Then again I called them asking to send it as quickly as they can or Can I pay it by phone. Because I want to close this mattter. Did I do the right think or not? Help please. Will this matter will close after I pay the fine... ansewer needed . Thank you.&

    You don't know 100% WHAT they are going to do until you get paperwork from them. Until then you have to just wait to see what happens next.

    It is possible that you will pay them for their time and still be criminally charged.
