Questions on form 4868 extension for tax return
    Hi,

I got many helps from this forum.
I came US January 2006, and graduated Dec. 2007. I worked from Feb. 2008. From Feb. to Sep. I worked with my OPT and I got H1B in Oct. 2008. I got married.
So in order to file jointly, I have to wait until the date I can pass SPT test in 2009. To to this, I have to file form 4868 to apply extension for tax filing. Here is my question.

    1. My wife does not have ssn # and need to apply ITIN, so what should I put on line 3 - Spouse’s social security number?
    2. What should I do with line 8 and 9? Is it OK to leave them unchecked?

Put NRA where your spouse's SSN would go, then MAIL the Form 4868.
