I've had shoes named Mandy, and others that I can't remember. And my mom just bought shoes that were named Marcella and Aeryn. And it got me thinking, why do we name shoes?

That are already on the box? I just went to look at some of my shoe
Boxes and found, "Dorothee," "Esesteban," "Princess," and "Dexter," (bowling shoes).
I've also had shoes named "Mootsies Tootsies."

No, I mean the cutesy names on the boxes. And sometimes the names on inside under the tongue of the shoe too.

Bought a pair of Aigner shoes called "Mysty" in brown and decided you
Wanted a black pair, they would be able to find the style "Mysty" much
Easier than if you went back and asked for a black pair of Aigners, which
Make many different styles of women's shoes than if you asked for
A pair of black Aigner Mystys. You wouldn't have to waste time looking
At a bunch of Aigners that weren't the style you wanted.
