    Fetal Movement: Is this normal?
    I am 31 weeks pregnant. My baby moves a lot, she does have her sleep pattern but some days I feel she moves a lot when she is active.

    This is my first baby. I just want to know if this is normal, or is this sign of fetal distress? Lately I have noticed that her movements increase a lot after I have a Braxton Hicks.

    My daughter used to move around quite a bit when she heard music that she liked; it felt like she was tap-dancing inside of me and my pregnancy was completely normal. Ask your doctor just to be positive.

    As far as I know movement is a much better sign of health than lack of movement. Ask your Dr to be sure... I have yet to hear that movement is anything bad.

    I read online that too much movement after a BX contraction maybe a sign of fetal distress. So I got concerned. I will ask my doctor in my next appointment.

    Movement is a very good thing it is lack of movement that should worry you the most I have four and only had trouble with one and it was lack of movement that was the problem though. You should be all right but ask just for conformation..

    It's a great thing your baby active, I woundt worry about it but tell your doc on your next appt, probably a sign of how active your baby is . Relax and enjoy your baby.

    A braxton hicks contraction is still a contraction, whether it is actual labor. So every time you have one, she is getting "hugged"! She is probably just acting out after each one. Lol

    She'll probably do the same when she's out! My son does.

    From the sound of it, she is a healthy active baby. They tend to get very active from about 5- 8 months, and then "settle" down, and become less active towards their decent. Lol but they do still move. If there is no movement that is cause for alarm
