    Factoring Polynomials
    1) Determine the GCF of each pair. (1 mark each)

    a) 4a, 6a
    b) 12m3, 10m2
    c) 9mn2, 8mn
    d) 15bc, 25b2c

    2) Determine the GCF of each set. (1 mark each)

    a) 5xyz, 10abc, 25pqr
    b) 20x, 10x3, 8x2
    c) 12abc, 18ab, 6ac
    d) 10x2y, 15xy2, 25xyz

    3) State the missing factor. (The question mark is the missing factor) (1 mark each)

    a) 12x + 18y = ( ? )(2x + 3y)
    b) 3x2 – 5x = ( ? ) (3x – 5)
    c) 3y2 + 18y = 3y(y + ?)
    d) 4a3 – 8a2 = 4a2 (? - 2)
    e) 14a – 12b = 2(? - 6b)

    4. Factor each of the following. (1 mark each)

    a) 10x + 15
    b) 2mn – n
    c) 8x2 + 4x3
    d) 4a – 8b + 16
    e) 12x3 – 6x2 + 24x
    f) 10x3 – 5x2 + 15x
    g) 24x4y – 18x3y + 12x2y2

    Hello devildriver16

Well, nice you post all your homework here, but what have you done so far with all these questions?

Please tell us PER QUESTION what your problem is in solving each !

    1) Determine the GCF of each pair. (1 mark each)

    a) 4a, 6a = 2a
    b) 12m3, 10m2 = 10m^2
    c) 9mn2, 8mn = 6mn
    d) 15bc, 25b2c = 5bc

I think those all right, but not sure.
I find the common factor between them then use that number then find the common variables.

    2) Determine the GCF of each set. (1 mark each)

    a) 5xyz, 10abc, 25pqr = 5.. I'm really confused on the variables part.
    b) 20x, 10x3, 8x2 =
    c) 12abc, 18ab, 6ac =
    d) 10x2y, 15xy2, 25xyz = 5

These I don't understand at all. (the 2's or 3's that are in between or next to variables are meant to be exponents. They just don't show as they are supposed to"

    3) State the missing factor. (The question mark is the missing factor) (1 mark each)

    a) 12x + 18y = ( ? )(2x + 3y) = 6x
    b) 3x2 – 5x = ( ? ) (3x – 5) = 1x
    c) 3y2 + 18y = 3y(y + ?)
    d) 4a3 – 8a2 = 4a2 (? - 2)
    e) 14a – 12b = 2(? - 6b)

So on these this is what I'd do:
    a)
    6,x
    6,y
    6x(2x + 3y)
    6x(2x) + 6x(3y)
    12x + 18y

Im dull when it comes to math.
