Apply for Visitor visa when H1 not stamped
    Hi,

My status changed from F1 (OPT) to H1B in Oct 2008 And haven't got my visa stamped yet. My wife is on H4. Is it possible for us to make any trips outside US without my visa being stamped? Can we apply for visitor visa?

    Thanks in advance.

When you changed your status without leaving US, you have status not visa. In this case, you need to submit application to the US consulate in the country where you are going. You will get H-1 stamped in your passport. Without this stamp, you won't be able to return to US.
