    Placement of AAV
Long story short our kitchen sink in our house needs an AAV as a result of a renovation. My question is to the exact location of the AAV downstream from the p-trap. Thank you in advance for any advice.

    Hi RMH:

The AAV should be located within a few feet of the p-trap. It can be piped on the horizontal at least 6-12" above the pipe (picture 1 on left), or it can be on top of the vertical pipe above the ptrap (picture 2 on right). The AAV must remain accessible in case it needs to be changed in the future.

Let me know if need more...

    Hi Dennis...

NO... AAVs are NOT allowed in Massachusetts residentially or commercially.

You can appeal to the local plumbing inspector for a variance, but I have only seen 1 approved in 26 years!

Wye Placement [ 4 Answers ]

Hello All, I have a question as to the correct placement of a wye fitting. This is a 3" wye from a toilet that is draining into the main line. After installing this I realized that the wye may need to be placed more on its side, rather than almost upright. I'm imagining the water just flowing...

Panel Placement [ 4 Answers ]

Per NEC can an electrical panel be located inside a employees "coat room?" LA county requires a coat room, and I'm out of space to locate the panels. Any help is appreciated. Also, if you can point me to the NEC section I would greatly appreciate it.

Toolbar placement [ 3 Answers ]

I feel ridiculous. Somehow I managed to move the toolbar (clock, LAN settings, virus protection on the right; short cuts like IE, FOXfire, etc. on the left) from the bottom of my computer screen, around to the right, and then to the top of my screen and I can't seem to move it back. There must be...
