You should call a professional 1-800-876-6378 in Florida. Good luck.

I am saddened to hear the news of your daughter. I believe Tal posted a number to a treatment center.

In addition to a professional at a treatment center, your family doctor or the local Clerk of the Court should be able to guide you through much of the Marchman process. I have posted the website for it found under the State of Florida, Dept of Children and Families here, but it is lengthy and complicated:
    http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/mentalhea...an/index.shtml

I believe you will need help from a physician to orchestrate an involuntary admission under the Marchman act despite your daughter being of minor age.

Where is she now, who has legal custody and what are their views concerning her addiction problem?

Ultimately what her views are will matter too. The Marchman Act is only a 72 hour hold, with a limited chance for continued mandatory treatment. Don't be surprised if many along the way acknowledging the need for her cooperation in this. The hard truth is once she reaches adult age, it becomes nearly impossible to force someone to recover since we are a country of "rights" - one of which is the right to forgo medical treatments for an illness.

Thank you for posting and ask any questions here that you may have. I hope this was helpful.

Unfortunately addiction wrecks havoc not only for the sufferer but the family as well and an intervention is dependent on the user being ready for help and wanting help. Please do not lose sight of the fact that you and your family must have help also. I wish I had better news but I can only offer my prayers.
