    Employee Performance Reviews
    Hello!

    I have just walked into work this morning to be asked if I am OK to have an employee performance review at 3pm this afternoon. I need to prepare for what may be asked and also some insight into why it may have been called. Anyone out there got any advice?

    I think an employee performance review would be more about you and I think the employer will do most of the talking.
    But whatever he asks you be honest and this could be your chance to bring up pros and cons :)
    Good luck

    Thanks!

    I just got a letter dropped off and apparently they want to discuss;

    "Your commitment whilst at work to your entire effort, time and ability to the company's business" which doesn't even read like plain english to me

    And

    "Your perceived attitude toward internal and external staff and clients" - it's the perceived bit that gets me sounds a bit too much like a witch-hunt

    I don't even know how I'm supposed to reply to subjects like that!

    Do you know if other people are being reviewed? If not, it looks to me like someone suspects you of goofing off (like spending work time at AMHD ;) ) and having problems working with your colleagues.

    Yeah that's what I thought but I can't think of any reason why they would! And yes I am the only one getting a review.

    I work hard in a stressful environment and if I goof off I'm not the only one

    Hmph - guess I'll just have to smile and say thank you sir!

    Actually, as a supervisor myself, I can call in my workers at anytime to have a performance review. Sometimes it is because of bad performance and sometimes it is to thank them for such a great job. I have my reviews once a year and I am told what I could do better and what I have done great. My advice is to smile as you go to the review and be extremely mature. If it's good then as you close the door, give a holler. If not, then become determined to show the supervisors that you can do better. Often after my reviews, I walk out with a pay increase. Good luck!
