    Differences in the alpaca and llama

    Basically an alpaca is half the size of a llama.

    Alpacas were domesticated (like goats, sheep, and cows) thousands of years ago from an animal that no longer exists, something like a vicuna.

    Llamas are larger and wild, not domesticated.
