    Songs for addicts.
    Hello eveyone,

I've had some trouble with drinking in the past and a still do a bit... so ill admit that

However, I am going to school for music therapy. I have been working with substance abuse patients...

My question to all of you is: what songs that you know of either now a days or frok back in the day, would be good for someone w. an addiction problem?

For example : man in the mirror by michael jackson is a good one.

A song that these people can relate to the lyrics...

Thank you so much for your help!
    Ciao

Yes, Yes! Stick with it. If works, if you work it, it worths it!! You have to stick to the program. My best advice for you is to find someone or something positive in your life... something or someone you are grateful for. Find an activity such as music or art to keeps you busy instead of drinking or using.

What kind of activity does the therapist do with you? Have you done any lyric analysis or song writing or listening?

Keep posting too! The best thing you can do is talk about your feelings and express you emotions. Live the healthy life, you'll love it. I do.

Yea we make up songs about our sober life and our old using lifes and stuff its fun. We play game that involve us expressing our emotions. I don't mind rehab at all. In fact I love it and I'm happy to continue on my road to recovery.:] your such a great inspiration thank you so much!

    "Crackhead" - Suede

You smoke your money, you burn your mind
You've done what's left of your social life
You sold your life for a big white rock
You're sucking on a pipe while the light's turned off

You ain't got nothing, ain't got no plans
The crack don't help but the pain don't end
You burn your money, you burn your mind
You smoke what's left of your social life

But you can't give it up, can't give it up
    Give it up

You sold your life for a 4-gram stone
You don't see no-one, you smoke alone
You're lost and stuck and you burn your brain
You're sucking on a pipe while your life slips down the drain

You ain't got nothing, ain't got no friends
The ice don't help but the pain don't end
You waste your love on a cracked-up mind
You smoke what's left of your social life

No no no no no no
You can't give it up, can't give it up
    Give it up

    You can't stop, don't stop, won't stop
    You got nothing, no, no
    You can't stop, don't stop, won't stop
    You got nothing, no, no
    You can't stop, don't stop, won't stop.

    "The Living Dead" - Suede

    Where's all the money gone?
    I'm talking to you
All up the whole in your arm is the needle a much better screw
But oh, what will you do alone?
    Cos I have to go.

Where is this life of fun, that you promised me?
Nothing here works but your works and I mean it I have to leave
But oh, what will you do alone?
    Cos I have to go.

If I was the wife of an acrobat
I look like the living dead, boy
You're on the wire and can't get back,
Let's talk about the living dead
    Could have had a car
    Could have had it all
Could have walked in the sky but we stare at the wall.

I know where the money's gone
    I know what you do
Cos I've seen the hole in your arm and the needle's a much better screw
But oh, what will you do alone?
    Cos I have to go.

    "Heroin" - Suede

    Took me on a limb
    You've taken everything
    Everything
    As the clouds come in
    As the rain begins
    Rain begins

    Heroin
    Heroin
    I'm out of it

    No more songs to sing
    No more love to bring
    Love to bring
    As the rain begins
    Such a silly thing
    Heroin

    Heroin
    Heroin
    I'm out of it

La la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la

    Heroin
    Heroin
    I'm out of it
