    Choosing Debt Settlement Company
    Hello. I have approximately $9000 in unsecured debt and have been trying to find the right company to go with. However, I have heard horror stories of people getting ripped off by shady "debt settlement firms". Does anyone out there have an idea of which company is the best and is honest?

    I heard on a consumer show on TV that one should go with a non-profit credit counseling organization and check with the better business bureau on any agency you choose. Most companies do it for profit and will rip you so make sure it is a non-profit consumer organization.
