    WinFixer
Downloaded Winfixer 2006. Decided I didn't want it. Un-installed it. Now every time Norton Anti-virus scans it detects 2 threats. Setup.exe and Winfixer. Norton Av won't quarantine it and the delete always fails. The only option remaining is to exclude it from future scans. I'd rather get rid of it. Any ideas as to how, please?

Can't you do a "System Restore" to a point before installation? DavidB.

The Wikipedia article is very eyeopening Needkarma, with all the expertise and know how that goes into creating such a devious programme it's a pity "They" won't create honest stuff. Suppose there's more money in it. Thanks for the links. DavidB.

Read an intersting article in one of the PC magazines some time last year that Yahoo was actually a 30% stake holder in one of those spyware companies - comletely forgot which one now - but do a Spybot or Adaware run and if you've spent any amount of time browzing - the beggars'll be there.

BTW for Bluehazel - I'm also in GY - pretty good site innit?

    Hiya John W.
Yes, it is a good site, learned a lot from these good people. Just think, GY could soon be as famous as NY with these people from across the "Pond". DavidB.

Winfixer? [ 3 Answers ]

how do I get winfixer to stop trying to install inself on my PC. A page keeps poping up asking me to install in. I click no, or click on x but it doesn't really work, and it usually closes at least 1 more web page that I may have opened at the time, when I do eventually get it to close.
