    Urethritis
Just want to ask of what's the effect if urethritis is not treated. And what are some simple remedy or medicines to get rid of it. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank u so much in advance.

Okay, simply put the suffix -itis means inflammation

The prefix urethr- refers to the urethra.

So, together it means inflammation of the urethra.

Many things can cause this from the simple urinary tract infection to an STD.

You need to see a doctor to get to the root of the problem.

The "effect" can be as simple as it just going away on its own to as complex as permanent damage that can result in numerous health problems that can affect not only the urinary system, but can go as far as damage to other organs including, but not limited to the brain.

See a doctor for a urine test to rule out STDs.

    Hi, popot,
I agree with the previous answer. If it's an infection, which you will not know unless you see a Doctor, my suggestion is to see a Doctor Now.
If it's a urinary tract infection, not treated, it will only get worse!
One thing you can do is drink an 8 oz. glass of Ocean Spray Cranberry juice a day. If it's an infection, it won't cure it, but might help slow it down some.
Those who are prone to getting this type of infection should drink Cranberry juice, cause it does help in preventing it; but does not cure it.
    Best of luck.
