We got our dog a couple of weeks ago from a farm where he had been born underneath hay stacks. We took him home and he wouldn't do anything, he would just lay down, grunt a lot and was dehydrated. The vet didn't know what was wrong and gave him I've which helped him to get spunky and playful, but didn't help him with eating or puking up his food. The vet also said he was probably taken away from his mother too soon, but now he is very skinny to where you can see his bones and is dehydrated again. Please help me.

Is there blood in your puppies stool? Does he smell kind of funny? I would go to a new vet and ask them to test for "Parvo virous". Along with that your normal vet should have checked for an obstruction in your pup's stomach and or digestive track. Also the vet should have at least sent you home with an antibiotic and a med to calm your pups upset belly.

If your pup can keep water down, try giving it pedialite... baby gadorade. Doing this will at least help keep your pup hydrated.

But I say go to a new vet as soon as you can.

I agree with your previous answer; please see another Vet.
There is one Vet here in our local area that "old times" refer to as an "old horse doctor"! This isn't meant in any complimentary way. This Vet is really bad; doesn't even have any X-Ray equipment, or normally doesn't take any blood samples, to even send off to a lab.
Please see another Vet, that has the capability of doing some blood work. I wouldn't guess at what's wrong, but it isn't good. I do wish you the best, and good luck.

Your first 2 answers are ver good. However, I would like to add: have your NEW vet check for distemper along with parvo.
