Thank you for posting your question to the Ask Me Help Desk.

Ecology is the study of the interactions between organisms and their environment.

Some broad concepts you should have in your lessons include but are not limited to...

    1. Adaptation - a particular genetic change that improves an organism's ability to survive and reproduce in a certain environment

    2. Evolution - genetic change in a population of organisms over time

    3. Natural Selection - changes in the gene pool from generation to generation

    4. Symbiosis - close relationships between two or more species

    5. Abiotic Factors - nonliving factors that affect a particular species such as weather

    6. Population Growth - including birth and death rates

    7. Population Regulation - predator/prey, disease, human impact, etc.

    8. Life Histories - reproductive patterns of a species

    9. Behavior Ecology - communication and aggression

    10. Competition, Habitat, and Niche - survival, location, and roles

    11. Succession - change in the amount of species following a disturbance

    12. Ecosystems - interacting species and environments

    13. Trophic Structure - stages of energy flow

    14. Nutrient Cycles - movement of nutrients on a global scale

    15. You may also wish to include a small review of the biology of the cell, and some weather and climate information as well.
