... If, in fact, that is what I need to do. I was adding/removing programs to improve my computer's speed and get rid of some old things and accidentally deleted the "sound max" program, which turned out to be the source of every sound my computer makes. I looked through some other forums and did the "belarc" computer profile to find out what sound card I had... and it says none found. Here is that profile below... please help!

First, I'd try a System Restore.

Select a date prior to the deletion of the sound card.

-go to start, settings, control panel, system, hardware tab and then device mgr

-are there any yellow marks there?

If so, right click on them and choose uninstall and say OK

-close all windows and restart PC, windows should find sound card and install drivers for it

-check to see if sound works

-if not, go back to device mgr and list what you have under sound and video game controllers

Try above and post back what you have there and will see what can be done about re-installing drivers

If u had that sound card cd insert into the drive and right click on my computer-hardware-device management-scroll it down select the sound right click on it give updatedriver and follow the instructions u will get it
