I've been getting these annoying ads that appear on my desktop from a "Messenger Service" from a certain IP address to my IP address. How do I block these ads or get the sender to cease from sending them to my computer?

Needless to say, I contacted the sender to no avail.

    TIA,

Do you have any adware on your system or does it only happen when you go to a particular web site? You can also download a free adware removal program from: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Adware also has a applicatiion called "Spyware Nuker" that does a much better job. While adware is free they stopped doing updates on it. I bit the bullet and bought the spyware nuker app. It is a one time charge and the updates are automatic. Good luck. Tom

    Thanks very much, guys.

They are just messages that pop up on my screen from a "Messenger Service" to my IP address. I don't know how I got on their list of recipients.

I'll try your suggestions. Thanks again.

I have just read some disturbing articles about Spyware Nuker at CNET.com. Apparently, they themselves are a spyware company! When you buy their software, it does indeed remove the spyware already on your computer, BUT THEN THEY INSTALL THEIR OWN!

Incredible, but true, apparently. One just doesn't know whom to trust sometimes.
