    Washing wool army blankets
    Can you wash wool army blankets in the washing machine? Are there any precautions?

    It's been a number of years since I washed one, but I used cold water, reg wash and hung it to dry with no probs.

I read in another post that you can caulk with lead wool. Does this mean that after packing oakum in a joint, you then pack lead wool into that same joint (without any application of heat) and you are done?
