Ceiling Fan replacement SPTT 4 position, 4 wire pull chain switch
Hi, I need a replacement switch and capacitor for a ceiling fan for which I don't know the brand, the fan is marked with HMP-52, 86Amps, 120V, 85W.

The 4 position, triple throw, 4 wire switch is a Zing Ear ZE-208S
The capacitor is marked as an SK 4.5uF-U 250WV.AC, is rectangular in shape and has one wire at each end

Where can I find reasonable priced replacements for these, I don't care if they are the same brands.

Thanks for any suggestions of best places to find replacements.

Do you know if most home center stores or Hardware stores carry these (Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware), or is there a good place on line to buy replacements?

    Thanks,

    Bert

The cap is a 4.5 micro-farad rated to 250 volt. You may find replacements at Lowe's, Home Depot or etc. Telephone them first... Such are interested in selling complete fans, instead of parts. Try searching "Ceiling fan parts" or asking a local HVAC shop if they can get the parts for you...

Home Centers and Hardware Stores usually have a small selection of pullchain switches, they should have the standard L-1-2-3 like yours. However capacitors you have to obtain from the manufacturer, or from CeilingFanParts.com Home

I recently changed the 3 speed 4 wire switch on a ceiling fan as the old one had a broken collar. I purchased a replacement at Lowe's. The replacement worked at high speed only. I was careful in noting which color wires went into slots 1,2, 3 & L. Thinking that the new switch was defective, I...

Ceiling fan light pull chain replacement [ 5 Answers ]

Pull chain on the ceiling fan light broke off, so I pulled it down, and figured out what to buy, but at some point one of the two black wires going to it came loose, presumably out of a screw cap. Does it just go in the cap with the other black load wires (3 still together)? Do I understand...

Installing a pull chain switch on a ceiling fan [ 2 Answers ]

I just replaced the broken pull chain switch on a ceiling fan. There were two black wires coming from above the light socket. Either way I attached them to the two black wires coming from the pull switch worked. Does it matter which goes to which if they work either way?
