    Powerpoint Refrigerator
I bought a PowerPoint Fridge yesterday from SoundStore and last night decided to have a look at the usual literature that accompany's every appliance. I had a look through the only manual that came with it "instruction".

It states that if you have any trouble with there fridge that you should call there there service department, the only thing is, there is not one telephone number in the entire manual, not even an address, I did a search on Google and cannot find a Website for PowerPoint Refridgerators.

My question to the readers of this post is; does anyone know of a Website, Phone Numbers etc. For this company.

I am going back to SoundStore today to give them the same question, I'll update this post later.

    Thanks.

Japanese thermoelectric refrigeration is the only reference I came up with after searching on Google. Other then the fact that it is actually called PowerPoint. How did you basically come across this type of refrigerator? Had you been reading about it and decided to buy? Any website I accessed was incomplete and absolutely did not explain a thing regarding these refrigerators.

My qualified opinion is you should send it back and buy one produced in the U.S. where parts and service are readily available from service outlets in any city.

Would like to know what you find out when you visit this store.

I went back to SoundStore and the Sales agent I spoke to was a bit confused, he went and spoke to the head manager who told him, that if I ever have any trouble with it that I should ring SoundStore, they would directly contact PowerPoint (now I'm confused... LOL... that company must get lots of business).

    To answer your questions:

I was in SoundStore looking for a new Hotpoint Washer, when I came across the "under-the-counter" fridge as they called it, it was priced at €130 so I bought it for my bedroom and the sales assistant had told me it was a well-known and popular brand.

Also I had a Hotpoint engineer at my house this morning taking a look at my Dryer, and I asked him about PowerPoint, he has heard of the name, but other than that new nothing else, he suggested that I call a big name retailer such as Kelly and Dollard and tell them I'm looking to have a Fridge I purchased there serviced and see if they have the Service Number. So I'm going to do that.

If I get the number I will of course reply here with the details in case another member is in need of similar aid.

    Here's the Fridge (PowerPoint SR130B):

I would strongly urge you not to buy this fridge. The manager just saying to call the store is not good enough and would not be good enough for me to purchase a high end item like that. Now,
Hotpoint I am acquainted with and have been making appliances for a few years. But do a Google search yourself with 'powerpoint refrigerator' and you will come up with same as I did, absolutely no qualifying information concerning that refrigerator.

Right, firstly John, I live in Ireland and I know the ins & outs of the retail industry - especially the electrical side.

Powerpoint are not a 'popular' brand, they are a budget brand and in my experience, they aren't too reliable... Most salespeople worth their salt would have tried and up-sell to a better brand. I wouldn't worry too much about the fact that there is no number on the warranty, your contract is with the retailer and theirs in turn with the distributor/ manufacturer.

If you experience a problem, go back to the shop with your receipt and if its under warranty (generally one year for white goods) then they will have to sort it out for you. If its out of warranty and the appliance is defective (ie you didn't break it through misuse!) then you should still bring it back. If they refuse to take it or you feel that you are being charged unfairly then you may take it to the small claims court as there is a set 'life-span' that an appliance should have, and if its deemed that the good was faulty or defective then you are entitled to compensation depending on how long you have had it and other such factors.

I do find it funny that the Salesperson in Soundstore told you to contact another store to get the details - that's either completely lazy or completely incompetent and that would turn me off ever buying something there. Good service back up is a must when you are buying electrical goods and I will always shop where I know I will be looked after if there is a problem.

Hi, I just asked my landlord to change my previous fridge because it didn't have a freezer inside, so he bought a Powwerpoint refrigerator, which it seemed to have a very very small freezer, it's new so it should work but the food I put inside the freezer remains unfrozen. I live in ireland too, sO I don't know what to do, there's no phonenumber to contact.

neny2504: it's your landlord that you should contact, he's responsible for the property in your apartment. Let him get in contact with where he purchased the fridge.

Still have my powerpoint and after 5 years its still going strong.
