Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Remote Control INTERMITTENTLY works; battery fine
I've a Home Depot (HD) Hampton Bay ceiling fan with light & 9v remote control.

    It worked fine forever.
    The lights work fine.

    I really like(d) it.

Recently  the remote control started to wig out when I want to TURN either the light or the fan OFF.

I'd press the Off button (either fan or light) and SOMETIMES I'd get my wish. Sometimes, I don't get what I want; I get nada, zip, zilch, nothing. Well, I do get frustrated.

So I tested the battery (the good old LICK test)... it was fine. I replaced it anyway.

    With my NEW battery, nada.

I made sure all of the DIP switches were firmly in place. They are.

Last night after randomly trying to turn the fan off over 1 hour, I just unplugged it. I learned this morning that when I plugged it in that it TURNED BACK ON on its own accord. Nicely, though, it allowed me to turn it off.

So, I'm wondering if there isn't some sort of heat build up in the REMOTE sensor area (where the wiring is).

There is NO smell... but I opened up the casing and it doesn't seem bad - although it's VERY difficult to get to (height, and spinning fan blades).

    Suggestions?

How does the LED on the remote behave when you attempt to control the fan/light?

First, trying switching the frequency of the fan and remote. If that doesn't work, one or the other will require replacing.
