No, we got a boy in church went fire engine red for a while.

Even I merely see hair colors as a method of expression.

(I still think clown when I see the bright orange)

Not necess. But leans a little that way.

Our daughter decided shed do that her junior year. She made the mistake of not using permanent dye. She only dyed like 4 inches of the ends. It all burned out quickly and then she had to redye again. And then finally to black.

We were not particularly fond of it but she paid to do it and to "fix" it when she was done.

But she didn't wear the makeup or dress in a way that said goth.

I had my hair blue black for years, and I was a fan of wearing black clothes and no one ever thought I was goth. Goth is in the attitude (and the makeup)!

No. I am goth and you cannot say someone is goth because their hair color. I am young (age 12) I died my hair black, my clothes are black, heck I'm even "emo." Unless you call yourself goth, you are not goth. Hair means nothing- it's what's on the inside that matters (do you hate or love? Are you depe4ssed or happy go lucky?) Dying your hair purple doesn't mean you are an annoying brat that thinks they can do whatever and start a new trend. Dying you hair black DOES NOT mean goth... to me it is far from it.
