    Fan always on?
I share an office with two professional colleagues. The office is in a much larger building but it has its own heating/air conditioning unit.
One of my colleagues has a room with very poor air circulation. Rather than reach up and flip the switch on his way in and out twice a day, four days a week he wants to leave the circulator fan on all the time (rather than in the “Auto” position).
I maintain that leaving the fan on for a majority of hours in which the office is unoccupied would:

    Unnecessarily consume electricity
Cut the life expectancy of the expensive fan motor.

    Any comments?

    Re: Fan always on?
Does this fan just circulate the air, or does it draw in fresh air? Either way, you are right it does waste electricity and will shorteen the lifee of the fan motor. It is a shame somebody that considers themselves a professional is so insensitive their employer's expense.
