    Can we apply Green Card in OPT
    Hi

    I am right now in OPT , need to know can we apply green card without going into H1B. It seems to be hard to get H1B this time due to lottery system.

    What is your spouse's legal status? If he/she is a US citizen, then getting married is not a problem, but if he/she is a green card holder, I would recommend you pursue student visa or work visa until you are eligible to adjust your status.

    If you are non-US citizen and married a green card holder, it will take you approx 5 years to obtain a green card.
