    Wireless pci card
I was searching for this post but I couldn't find anything on the topic

I know this is a stupid question and some of you might flame me for me, but I just ordered a laptop and forgot to put a wireless chip in it, as of now I do not need the wireless but I was wondering if it is still possible to hook it up to a wireless connection or would I have to get a whole new chip

    Thanks in advance

You can easily get a Wifi PC Card to give your laptop wireless network connectivity.

I'd suggest getting one that's a match to your Wireless Access Point - i.e. if you have a Lynksys router, get a Linksys PC Card adapter.

And then does that plug into the side of the computer or does it have to be installed internally

If your lap top does not have an internal wireless connector, you can buy one for about 40 bucks at Walmart that merely connects into the side of the laptop.

There are two ways to go here. Either using a PCMCIA card like Need is showing or you can use an external USB adapter. Some USB adapters just stick out from your USB port. Others use a cable to an antenna.
