    Severe Pnuemonia and Hair Loss
I recently suffered from sever pnuemonia which lead to me being on life support for two week. This was about three month ago. I have recently noticed my hair if falling out, not in clumps but if I run my fingers through my hair I usually bring out 2 or 3 strands at a time. I am very worried about this as I already have fine hair. I know from looking on the internet this can happen due to the bodies reaction to a shock but can anyone tell me how long this is likely to last and will my hair go back to normal and stop falling out.

A woman normally loses hair every day, and hair is replaced by new growth. Two or three is very few, even ten or twelve is within the normal range.

We normally lose up to 80 hairs a day, so this does not really seem out of the ordinary.
