    Over protective "mommy" cat
 Our cat Breenna adopted us. She invited herself in during a rainstorm one evening and allowed her to stay until the weather cleared, and well she decided that she was staying. She became very protective over my two children who are 5 and 1. She sleeps with them at night and during naps and attends anyone who is sick in the house and she allows my children to tote her around like a rag doll. She tries to nurse off me and is very persistent. She gets angry when she is pushed away. She is now pregnant, I believe, She never went into heat, but she comes and goes from the house as she pleases so I am not sure if it is a real pregnancy or a false. Can anyone give me any clues as to what is going on with this cat. I have had cats before and none have ever behaved like this one. She is very loving and gentle but any clues into her "odd" behavior would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like she has a lot of motherly instinct.
I wouldn't let her out of the house when she seems like she is due because who knows where she could end up having her babies. Keep being persistent right back in stopping her from behaviors that are annoying. Other than that odd behavior is often what gives cats their most memorable personality.
