    Ejaculation - Orgasm
Many years ago, I got into a discussion with a male friend in which I said that I thought that male ejaculation and orgasm didn't have to be the same process. Well, I got ridiculed by this guy! He thought it was way wrong... that a man couldn't ejaculate without having an orgasm(and the reverse). Several months earlier, I read someone's, I don't know who, opinion that started me thinking about this.

Does anyone have any personal or other information to provide on this topic? An article, personal experience?

To my knowledge a man can ejaculate without having an orgasm.

About Orgasm without ejaculation, not to sure about that one, but I have heard of that as well.

Masters and johnson said that the male orgasm is tied intimately to male orgasm... that to fully experience an orgasm, you ejaculate. Some compare orgasm without ejaculation to eating without swallowing...

But there's also a group of people who push for the separation of ejaculation and orgasm as two separate events that are tied together, but still independent. I've read where its said that orgasm isn't responsible for the mans refractory period... its ejaculation that causes it. Unfortunately, I don't have the primary literature to refute or support this at this time... ill poke around and see what I find.

Short of it is, some believe exactly what you've stated your friend believed... that its possible to have orgasm without ejaculation... personally I think its possible, but uncommon. Think about this... some women and men are very sensitive to nipple stimulation, so much so that one might reach orgasm quickly with proper stim... I can see where this would bring a man to orgasm... the kind that spreads over the body and isn't tied to the genital region... but I've no experience with this.

One other note... and this is just a strange by the way I guess... the physical feeling of ejaculation, with pressure of fluid running though the urethra, adds a pleasureable sensation to orgasm with ejaculation. Why is that odd? Well... its very similar to the sensations felt with urination when the bladder is really full... that "i NEED to get to a bathroom NOW" kind of pressure... that pleasure felt in relief of, well, relieving the bladder is not unlike that felt during ejaculation.

Not to ick anyone out. Just think its interesting to note.

Ill see I can find any primary lit on orgasm versus ejac in men. I know there's tons of stuff out there that claim its separate, but I need to see some primary lit.

Excellent kp, very helpful. I wonder if this topic is too esoteric?

I would really be interested in any links you run across.

    Thanks, again.

I heard that the male can actually achieve orgasm without ejaculation...

Many males who cannot last a long time will use this method in order to last longer... by getting close to ejaculation, then gently holding the "ring" in order to stop the ejaculation. If you get close enough to it, you can achieve an orgasm without ejaculating.

... to be honest, it's never happened to me... but.. who knows, some may be more talented than others.

    Cosmopolitan Magazine - October 2007
    Article "99 Amazing Sex Facts"
Fact 1: Both men and women can have multiple orgasms. But for men to achieve one, their first orgasm must occur without ejaculation and without losing their erection.
Now, I'm not saying that Cosmo is the font of all knowledge, but that's what it said! I also don't want to discuss why I was reading a girls magazine! Ha ha!

I understand what you mean though, and I think I've experienced such a sensation a few times before!

BTW, if anyone wants the other 98 amazing sex facts, I'll happily type them out here, some of them are great!

Well, actually, last night while my husband and I was having sex. He had an orgasm... So he pulled out (as he always does) because he comes... well, he didn't. It had never happened before.

generally, the first ejaculate is non-orgasmic... so, technically pe- or even some substantial premature ejaculate can occur prior to orgasm.

I have, yes, achieved multiple orgasms as a male - both with ejaculate. The sex was super hot and it was one girl it happened with - but the second was the real deal... boom.

the non-technical answer: women get to feel the earth move many times....men really only once.
