Read topics; still puzzled.blocked vent or blocked drain

Hi all. I just bought a ranch with a crawl space. My waste drain begins at my washer machine, past the kitchen sink, pass the bathroom tub and ties in with the main sewer line with the toilet and vent stack at the back of the main drain before it exits to the street at the front side of the house. I have snaked with 50 feet through the toilet, the bathroom sink and the tub. The tub drains very slowly, pulls water from the toilet and then the toilet gurgles and send morse code in air bubbles. I found no cleanout at the foundation in the front yard. I see that the main sewer line has been taped in the crawl space. When I flush the toilet I get rotting debris in the tub. Am I able to fix this or do I need to call a plumber.

How big is that 50 foot snake.. For a main drain blockage you need a cable size that is 1/2" minimum.. with (1/2) of a 3 inch cutter head if possible... or smaller. Start with 1/2 a head and see what you get.

You can rent a snake almost anywhere. Use leather gloves and be careful. Bloackage could be out by a bush for all you know so be sure to rent a snake that will get you to street!!

Let us know how you make out.

    I'm getting mixed signals here.
When I flush the toilet I get rotting debris in the tub.
The first complaint sounds like a vent problem and the second sounds like a drain problem. Could it be that you have two separate problems and are treating it as one?
The first one sounds like a blocked lavatory roof vent . The second sounds like a local blockage in the bathrom branch. If you snaked through a pulled toilet that vshould clear the line. I'm with Massplumber, how big is the snake that you used? Let us know. Tom
