    Cannot play wmv files
Even though I've downloaded and installed Windows Media Player 11 on my Dell Dimension 2350 PC (running Windows XP, service pack 2), I cannot get my PC to run a wmv file, either in my browser or as a stand alone file. I use Firefox as my browser, but also have Internet Explorer 7 installed on my PC.

Someone told me that I might not have the codec I need to play these files. I thought installing the Windows Media Player 11 would fix that problem, but maybe not. The bottom line I still can't get the wmv files to play.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the codec files to properly play the files you want to. They are easily downloaded from the net.
