    Logarithms
got stuck on this one... use the properties of logarithms to rewrite the expression in terms of log(base 10)of 3 and log(base 10) of 4. Then use log(base10) of 3 = 0.477 and log (base 10) of 4 =0.602 to approximate the expression.

then these are the two I have to solve.

    a. log (base 10) of 16 b. log (base 10) of 1/3

    log(b^a)=a*log(b)

    log(16) = log(4^2) = 2 log4 = 2*.602 = 1.204

    log(1/3) = log(3^-1) = -log3 = -.477
