    Searching for a new laptop
I am searching for a new laptop computer. Here is what I am looking for:
Speed (what or how many GB memory do I need? and GB ?), Microsoft office, wireless mostly at home.

I mostly use my computer to browse the internet.
I use Microsoft office mainly word and excel. I do save documents and pictures.
How about going wireless? What router will I need? I've seen different letters after the name "H" or "K" ?

What else is important in buying this laptop?

You want a laptop with a dual core processor, either the Intel Core 2 Duo oir the AMD Truion X2. You want 1G of RAM, preferably 2. You want a hard drive somewhere between 120 and 200G depending on your budget.

You will have to purchase Office Home and Student version separately for $130-$150. Your laptop will come with WiFi (wireless) either 802.11G or n. the n gives you greate range and speed at greater cost. You will then need a wireless router to match the WiFi adapter.

For browsing the net, any laptop will suffice. The cheaper the better. Heck, best buy and Circuit City are advertising ones for $499 now days. Most today come with a wireless card installed. Then depending on your internet connection type you will need a router. Higher letter is usually the latest versions. And unless you are a speed freak, one or two versions back are perfectly good for home use.
