How do I connect a Sony Betamax to transfer to DVD?
    Hi-
How do I connect a Sony Betamax SL-3030 to a Sony RDR-VX530 VCR / DVD Recorder?
I have tried every configuation I can think of, and still I am not able to get a positive result.
    Any answers?

    Thanks in advance

What Outputs on Betamax, and what inputs on VCR/DVD.
Did you try the Composite connections(Yellow, red and white)?

    Hi
With the red/yellow/white cables, it goes OUT of the Beta, video & one audio only.
It goes IN to the DVD R LINE 1 IN (all three cables).
Then, OUT from the DVD R (LINE OUT) and IN to the back of the TV.

Technically, I know it should work but it isn't. I am almost resolved at this point to go from the Beta to VHS (record), this works, I tried last night. Then record a DVD from the VHS copy. I just didn't want to lose a "generation" of picture quality.

Do you think that it is even possible to connect the SONY BETA to the SONY DVD R?
I know the technology is about 30 years apart. It seems that the signal from the Beta is not reaching the DVD R.

    Thanks

    Hi
A friend's husband, who is in the Entertainment Industry called me.
We figured it out. There was one small problem, the DVD R needed to have the programing on LINE 1.
I am on my third DVD of recording. : )

    Thanks for your help.
