Sorry if I used the wrong terminology, I'm still pretty computer illiterate. (Shame, shame... I know) Anyway, I was just wondering if video files can be copied to CD-RW's and if they can, what would these CD's play in? Second, can DVD +/- RW's take audio files? Thank you so much for your help. Sorry again about the lack of knowledge.

You can put movie files onto a CD-R(W). If you are just going to play them on your computer, you can use any format you like. If you want to play them on your standalone dvd player, you will need to use Video CD format or the higher quality Super Video CD format. Note that neither of these is as good as dvd quality, and some dvd players will not play them. And you will need multiple discs for a single movie.

You can put audio files onto a DVD +/- R(W), but in most cases you will only be able to play them on your computer. There is a new DVD Audio format that may become popular soon... I'm not sure what stage it is in right now.
