Do you talk about Politics @ work?
    Hey there,

Do you talk about Politics at work? Who do you talk to about your Politics opinion? Is that safe to talk about it at all?

    Why?

I would like to see different reasons for that.

Start myself, I don't mention a word about politics at work.

    Thanks,

We aren't allowed to discuss politics with library patrons, and the boss discourages any public (in the library) political discussions among staff. If there's a hot topic or with the campaigning going on, we might discuss politics while on break in the staff lounge or even decide to meet at a local restaurant after work.

If asked a question, I will answer. But generally politics and religion aren't discussed at my work.

    I see... same here.
Last week, one coworker was bringing up the last GOP debate... and asking when was the next debate. I knew it was today, but I didn't even answer him. ^^||

(I figured someone else would answer that for him in the office and I guess all the others now know where he stands at,lol)

Politics and religion - two topics never discussed at work. People know I am a conservative and that is all they need to know. It is never a win-win situation to discuss hot button topics like that in the workplace. I have learned that from some hard experience. Lol

Younger people always do, like people who work part time during college and stuff, but older people almost never do. A lot of the time it's just asking for a big argument and would make work a lot harder.

CaptainRich agrees: You are very wise. If he was particularly interested, he would already know when the schedule for the next event.
Thank you. I'd rather be overcautious.
    And... it's tomorrow right?;)

A couple times a week, in moderation, with other employees, and never with clients unless they choose to open up discussion. The personalities at the office like to bounce views off each other and for the most part everyone involved remains tactful. One thing I've noticed is that if I relate whatever political subject of the day to past history, that usually takes the edge off the sharper opinions.

I work with veterans, but politics, I think surprisingly, rarely comes up.

If I agree, I'll acknowledge and maybe comment.

If I disagree, I'll listen and nod okay and leave it at that.
