    The intended meaning was similar to Capuchin's, this is easy to Google and apart from that it's obviously a homework question so it wouldn't be "morally" right to answer it.

    Also Jesus did create the rings of Saturn, Saturn itself and the computer you are using.

    They think that one of its moons disintegrated due to Saturn's gravitational pull leaving behind the debris we call rings.

    BTW
    The ring debris is said to be speeding along at approx. 40,000 mph.

    Only very few of the rings are formed by moons breaking up.

    There are many different explanations for the formation of the rings, they are explained in the wikipedia article.

    For example, the E ring was formed by volcanic eruptions from one of Saturn's moons. Read the article if you want more details of each of the rings.

    Also, the speed that Starman has given is misguided. A simple understanding of orbital mechanics will tell you that the innermost (66,900km and orbiting at about 53,000mph) and outermost (483,000km and orbiting at about 20,000mph) rings must be moving at different speeds.

    Capuchin is right, different parts of the rings are moving at different velocities. If they weren't then the inner ones would be pulled in by Saturn's gravity. He is also right about certain rings being formed by outgassing from certain moons. And also he is correct in saying that there are various explanations for ring formation.

    Where did I assume this was homework? Why must you resort to personal attacks? Is that the only way you know how to get your point across (btw - it doesn't get it across very well at all, especially when the accusations are based on fallacy)?
