Tell him he has a "certain amount of time" to find a new place to live and move out. You don't have to expain why, just be nice and polite and tell him it is time for him to move out.

Best thing to do is look up the laws in your state.. and see what amount of time you have to give legally to remove him... give him either the 30,60 day notice to quit.. and see if he gets scared and leaves on his own.. ( most of them do ) or he might fight it in court.. so be prepared and read all you can on the subject.. I've seen sticky notes on laws at the top of the page... they're pretty good.. I've followed them and I was able to get my son out of the house.. good luck..

Depends on the conditions of his residency. If he has ever paid rent or has been there long enough to establish legal residency, then you will need to follow formal eviction processes.

Just a comment.. ScottGem is very correct . Because.. I tried to boot my son out, and the police said that even thou my son didn't pay rent.. he had established residency and he was legally a resident.. with rights.. so I would be careful-- I really like this site.. because I learned so much trying to get my son and his girlfriend out. . But check everything out.. -- :) goodluck.
