The answer is in Wikipedia, you just need to read it more thoroughly.

The earliest extant version of a list of seven wonders was compiled by Antipater of Sidon, who described the structures in a poem around 140 BC

The first paragraph (after the contents) of the Wikipedia entry linked above gives you the earliest known references to them.

That information is in the wikipedia entry already linked and referenced twice.

You have not bothered to do the research yourself, and are only looking for the answer to your question. Do your homework yourself.

It doesn't mention that in the link I provided you, or in this one Herodotus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You can find pretty much anything in Wikipedia if you try.

Ancient historian Herodotus (484 BC– 425 BC) created lists of seven wonders, though none of the original documents survived and are known only by reference by other authors

Taken from New Seven Wonders of the World: Just the Latest List in a Legacy as Long as Written History

Like I said before, this person created the first documented list : The earliest extant version of a list of seven wonders was compiled by Antipater of Sidon, who described the structures in a poem around 140 BC

You have not read the wikipedia entry linked and referenced multiple times. I have even said exactly which paragraph has that information. Read it again. The first paragraph after the list of contents. It's there. It's been there since the link was first posted.

    Read it.

    Antipater listed :

-the wall of lofty Babylon on which is a road for chariots,
-and the statue of Zeus by the Alpheus,
    -and the hanging gardens,
-and the Colossus of the Sun,
-and the huge labour of the high pyramids,
    -and the vast tomb of Mausolus;
-but when I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, 'Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand.'

This is a freebie, but the next time you need homework help, you need to research Wikipedia and Google yourself. :)

I would say that this is a homework question ( thus the urgent nature)
Who else has to know this right away??

I believe in helping them by telling them how to find it, and actually when they seem to be rude if you help them, just not helping them.

This can be found with very simple web searches, had you spent less time looking up the answer than asking it here, you would have had it.

Herodotus IS mentioned in the first wikipedia article mentionned...

Seven Wonders of the World - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The historian Herodotus (484 BC–ca. 425 BC), and the scholar Callimachus of Cyrene (ca 305–240 BC) at the Museum of Alexandria, made early lists of "seven wonders" but their writings have not survived, except as references"

Did you guys just miss it or something? :o

Edit: oops I only read the first page before replying :o
