I have been facing a problem which is related to internet connection. My computer is properly working when I am not using internet connection. But whenever I connect the internet connection, one message is displayed "Windows Automatically shutting down" or something like that. Is there any prevention of this? This is the recommendation by NeedKarma 'THE EXPERT', I tried to solve the problem which was really consuming me becoming disastrous. The Problem was WINDOWS AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS DOWN.

It is clearly stated on this site that I should stop the process using CTRL ALT + DELETE.. The item which was needed to be stopped is 'msblast.exe'. But there was no such file like that. But I stopped the process of 'msstub.exe', which caused the computer to be saved from that kind of message box AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS DOWN. But it happened again even though I used all the three steps described on that link above...

OK firstly, if you want us to help you don't get stroppy if something we point out doesn't work. These are just suggestions of things to try. It's impossible to give you an exact answer without being in front of your PC. NeedKarma's suggestion was perfectly fine. There was no need to come back with that sarcastic response. It definitely sounds like you do have a piece of malware/worm/etc. on your computer that is causing it to shut down, so NeedKarma is right.

Here's what I recommend:

Run Windows Update and make sure you have XP patched up to the latest version. The fact that your PC is doing this indicates that your version of XP hasn't been patched to the latest version and is probably full of security holes.

Do you have a virus scanner? If yes, make sure it's got the latest virus definitions and run a full system scan. If not, get one from either http://www.avast.com or http://www.grisoft.com . They both do free virus scanners. That said you could try one of the many web based virus scans:

By the way, for your further info, I have updated windows XP version which resulted good till now... But I am still worried of its vulnerability...
I have downloaded Norton Antivirus Definition also... but latest or not? Not Sure...
But the real problem is -- I have never found any file which was in process, so called Msblast.exe.
Nothing else... If I had this file, I could have prevented my computer from being infected by worms.
NeedKarma gave me the real solution but I never found any file mentioned on the website of MICROSOFT...

The trouble with these worms and viruses is that there are so many different versions out there. They all have their own filenames etc. so it's tricky to pinpoint the exact one.

Anyway, glad it sounds like you're sorted. As for your NAV updates, you should be able to get the program to update automatically (LiveUpdate), so that way you can always be sure you have the latest definitions.


Finally, sorry if I read that converstation the wrong way. It did sound sarcastic to me but then I could be wrong, so sorry. Either way, it's all sorted now, so no harm done :)
