Starship troopers
Hello.
Surprise surprise! I'm not asking you to FIND me a movie for once :D
I just watched starship troopers for the first time. (yes I know, I'm behind in the times)
And I have to ask... was it INTENTIONALLY made funny?
It just seems really CHEESY to me somehow. It has some serious definite ADULT parts (watching a guys head be blown up or shot off isn't something my 5 year old should see) but it still seems really cheezy to me. Sort of like mars attacks but without the humor.
Did they do that on purpose? Or were they trying to make an honest serious movie and just slipped up?

I think it was just poorly done and no intentions of being funny.

I think it was actually supposed to be a scary movie.

Yeah I think it was supposed to be a scary movie. The problem is, it didn't scare me... lol. It was creepy, with the whole accually SHOWING heads getting blown up and the whole image of decapitated bodys and everything. But other than that it was just silly sometimes.

Yes it's satire done in a "B" movie style.

Uh oh, that gave a little bit away didn't it... :)
B movie: B movie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"In its original usage, during the so-called Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified a film intended for distribution as the less-publicized, bottom half of a double feature. Although the U.S. production of movies intended as second features largely ceased by the end of the 1950s, the term B movie continued to be used in the broader sense it maintains today. In its post–Golden Age usage, there is ambiguity on both sides of the definition: on the one hand, many B movies display a high degree of craft and aesthetic ingenuity; on the other, the primary interest of many inexpensive exploitation films is prurient. In some cases, both are true."
And the usage in this day: B movie - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Loved starship troopers :D
Brilliant film, yes very cheesy, yes funny in places, yes many holes (my personalfavourite one was when theyd kiled the big flame thrower one and the 'blood' covered half their armour... quite accuratly :D, half orange half blue )
But the way they're so serious about it its great :)
I also really like the score :), great inspirational music
Found out its nothing like the book its based on, as that's very political and not as much action
Also used to watch the 3D cartoon series... where they only needed 3 bullets per arachnid and not 5 people to take down one bug :D

Hi Gekko, I didn't know there was a question ? What is the question you were referring to? And most of all, what is the answer ?

The question was "Why is this movie so bad?" He gave the actual answer at which point, you once again became sarcastic and insulted him without insulting him. Next, you're probably going to start finding offense in that same members posts.
Your constant nitpicking and attitude is quite tiresome.

I didn't mean fun for you, this, fun for me. If you don't like my posts put me on your ignore list and you won't have to put up with the nitpicking and attitude if it bothers you so bloody much.

Actually, your constant hypocrisy is what bothers me.
You insult people, then criticize others for doing the same - when they never did it.
You like posting things that are 100% incorrect and when you get called out on them, you quickly announce that you'd like to "move on."
I find you to be a menopausal woman who enjoys picking fights on the Internet... at least, that's what my mother was. And you display the same characteristics as she did. Quite similar, indeed.

I don't see what all the disputing is about what others 'thought' of the movie.
How can it be a dispute if everybody got something different from it??
B movie, poorly made. Whatever I don't see the argument here.

That's exactly the point. Someone else got something different. There's no reason to sarcastically say, "Well, aren't you the clever one." I personally think that reddie was well-deserved.
