Is this a genealogy issue or a missing persons issue? What do you know about her as far as possible date of birth or death or where she lived?

This is a genealogy question. I don't have a lot of information on her. I know she lived was born in Scotland, immigrated to Canada. My great great grandmothers name was Anna Morris. Her father was Thomas Bell Morris (born in Scotland) and her mothers name was Marietta Lowe. I believe Jeanne Bell was married to Thomas Bell Morris's father. Other than this, I do not have any information. She might have lived in Indiana at one time.

Have you tried the Library of Congress? There is a copy of the "Alexander Gramham Bell Family Papers" there. While most of the informaiton is about Alexander G. Bell. There is some family information there. It is a long shot but there could be something to help you a bit.

I knew Alexander had two brothers, one died of tuberculosis, but I cannot find that he had a sister. Have you tried searching on Ancestry.com?

I have tried Ancestery.com but had no luck. So far everything my great great grandmother had told me has been proven facts. So I have no reason to doubt this, it is just trying to find out for sure. Thanks for all the info.

If you have "surety level 1" (like birth/death records etc.) that confirms additional info that the library of congress has, I bet they'd be thrilled to hear from you with the info.

Do you know if Jeanne was deaf? I did find a notation about Alexander's Mother and sister being deaf, but no name to the sister.

Also, do you have this resource?

I am not sure. It is one those old family things. My great great grandmother lived a colorful and interesting life. Her one sister was married to a US Marshall who helped bring in the Dalton Gang. Grandma was at Ft. Sill when Geronimo was brought in, her father (Thomas Bell Morris) and Buffalo Bill Cody were in charge of supply buffalo meat to the railroad workers in Kansas. So far I have been able to document everything she has said through museums, etc. A newspaper article also mentioned how her father helped Alexander Graham Bell. So I am really just being very curious if this is another true fact or what.

It is always worth pursuing. One never knows what comes up. The joke in my Father's family was to never look back too far, one might find a horse thief (which was worse than anything possible). Turned out my Father's ancestor was a martyred Mennonite missionary in Switzerland.

So anything is truly possible. Wishing you the very best.
