Need to replace head gasket can't remove covers or cam shaft housing

If needed, try and get your hands on a shop manual or Haynes Manual. When I changed the spark plugs on one of those engines several years ago, you simply removed the cover by removing two bolts. Under the cover was the ICM--disconnect the negative battery terminal and wiring to the ICM first. This should expose the head bolts.
