    Please help
I have a problem with my PC and I don't know if it is a hardware problem or something else.
Every time I try to run a program or play a game it gives me an error report saying that the exe file of the program failed.
Or sometimes I get a message that says the following:
"NT On-Access Scanner service. has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Or sometimes it says that the services and controllers failed and it immediately forces my PC to restart in one minute.
Finally of course while I am using the explorer it crashes and restarts by itself.

Any ideas please because I don't know what to do with it and it really starts to get on my nerves.
    Thank you

I got some of the errors in the component services. Such as:

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000004c.

Faulting application , version 0.0.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

    Exception in McShield.Exe!
    Exception details follow :

The performance counter name string value in the registry is incorrectly formatted. The bogus string is 1848, the bogus index value is the first DWORD in Data section while the last valid index values are the second and third DWORD in Data section.

I don't know if that helps but there are more faults.

Uninstall McAfee Virusscan, that's what the mcshield is referring to. Try that and see if the problem persists.

I did and the system is still failing.
And apart from that it was failing even before I install Mcaffe virus scan.

I suspect one of two problems. A virus infection, which prevented a good install of Mcaffee. Or a corrupted OS. Try one of the online virus checks. http://housecall.trendmicro.com or www.pandasoftware.com I don't vouch for them but it is a start. Next reload your OS. You can do that without deleting anything, it will just write over and hopefull replace any corrupt files.

If neither one of those work you may have to rebuild your c drive. But before doing that give the experts here some time to ponder and respond. Hopefully they will have a less drastic solution.
