Have a Northport III 52" ceiling fan and can't figure out where to place the remote receiver. The installation manual says to place it in the upper canopy, but there's not enough room and after installing I can't secure the canopy. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?:confused:

I am trying to add a remote control to my Hampton Bay ceiling fan. It is mounted on a vaulted ceiling with a 3ft. Down rod extension. The remote control receiver does not fit in the canopy. The ceiling is 16ft. And the fan/light is heavy so I would really like to not have to take it down.
