No. Pick someone, smile your sweetest smile and just ask them. Mind you it helps if you are a nice person to begin with as idiots usually get turned down.

Try asking a girl that you've noticed looking at you. Maybe a friend.

Depends on how many people you know how shy you are and a number of other factors.
If you think you might have problem start looking early. If your shy you might want to start setting goals for yourself like everyday engaging in small talk with someone. If you have acne go to the doctor and get it cleared up they have many new meds that weren't available to your parents so they may not know that you can do that. If your overweight get in shape. If you don't know many people join a few clubs even if your not really excited about any of the clubs at your school they can help you meet more people.
