Ceramic Tiles To Be Cut
Is this statement true? Had some spare ceramic tiles from last year. Had to have one cut. Brought 3 12x12 tiles to Lowe's to be cut. Young man there broke two tiles, finally cut the last one correctly. He told me when ceramic tiles are stored, they are very difficult to cut. Is this true?

I've had tile stored in my garage for about 7 years and had no problem cutting them.
Was he using a tile cutter or a saw? When using a tile cutter , if u move the tile after it is scored the chances of breaking the tile is extremely high.
If using a saw, cutting to fast or twisting tile.

Yeah, not buying it... ;) I have a local company here that specializes in older ceramic tile and I've never had issues cutting them.
Chalk this up to inexperience is my guess!

No. Not true I would have told him to change the blade on the cutter.

Yeah, this is why we don't cut tile at Home Depot. You end up breaking some, getting a shard in your eye, and the customer's pissed on top of all that.
