More stupidity from across the pond and up a little...
Scottish independence: 19 October 2023 proposed as date for referendum
Scotland's first minister has proposed 19 October 2023 as the date for another referendum on independence.

Nicola Sturgeon said the question would be the same as in the last referendum in 2014: "Should Scotland be an independent country?".

Ms Sturgeon has written to Prime Minister Boris Johnson to ask for formal consent for the vote to be held.

She said she would press on with her plan if this was not granted by the UK government.

Or lets hold another vote to make sure we get the result we wanted in the first place, so much for a once in a generation decision....

Why do they want independence? Seems like that would become more of a burden than a blessing.

The 2014 vote happened before Brexit . So it is not a matter of a once in a generational proposition The Brit circumstances have changed since then.

The Scots want to stay with the EU ? Good luck with that . There is more of a chance they will encounter an Edward Longshanks rule in Brussels than in London.
As part of GB they retain their own system . As part of the EU they are subjects to undemocratic bureaucratic dictates without real representation.

If I were in charge of GB I would ecourage Nicola Sturgeon and her Scotish National Socialists to leave. Then I would reconstruct the Hadrian's Wall .How many pounds per Scot does GB subsidize ? In 2018/2019, Scotland received about £81 billion in public spending while tax revenue from Scotland was £66 billion.

True enough, however the leave EU vote was across the entire UK, the UK decided to leave.

yep, they really believe that they would be allowed to re-enter the EU, except the Commission have already been negative about that..

Kudos to Parliament playing Benny Hill Theme song (aka Yakity Sax) today after Boris Johnson resigned .

Benny Hill theme tune is now being played in Westminster - at Hugh Grant's request | indy100

Clueless Joe is so lucky we do not have a Parliamentary system.

BJ was head of the conservatives party.... but he was not a conservative by my definition ..especially in issues like immigration . Certainly he was more a hypocrite like lib California Guv Gavin Newsom

I hope his exit is not the end of Brexit .

He has resigned as Party leader, but stays in place as PM till a new leader is elected.

I hope his exit is not the end of Brexit .
That boat sailed a while back, the process is done.
