I had a drug test taken at the clinic I have been going to for 2yrs.and I'm on adderall 20mg. Clonazepam.5mg. Doxepin 25mg. Methodone 80mg and furosemide 20mg. My test came back negative. For everything! They see me take my methodone everyday. They won't retest it because I signed a paper when I took the test that because there wasn't enough urine it could not be retested. I signed it because I had no worries never had a problem. Now the water pill furosemide is a new med. And makes me pee a lot and makes me very thirsty so I've been drinking more water than I usually do anyway they want me to attend a group for 4weeks at 7am and I have done nothing wrong I did see online that the water pill could cause the false negative. On everything is this true? I am so upset because they think I did something to my urine. What can I do if I don't go to these groups then they will take away my take home doses of methodone. And I can't go everyday I get 3 take homes and was just getting ready to get 4 I've worked hard for these take home doses please can someone help?

It is possible for furosemide to cause a dilute urine, which would likely show all drugs negative. You need to take your RX for it to whoever runs your testing program and explain. It would be best if you had a letter from your Dr explaining the actions of the drug also. Good luck.

I wouldn't rely on mercy of the testers but trying to appeal that decision is a course of action but don't be surprised when they turn it down. There are too many explanations that include "Trying to cheat the system" that are highly plausible. Even if you're innocent than you're guilty. It is crappy, but that's life.

Why can't you go to the groups for 4 weeks? You have hoops to jump through to continue living as you are and this would just be another one. I understand the pride point of being assumed guilty when you're not but you really need to consider the ramifications of these actions and the impact of them. Swallow the pride. Do the time.

If you didn't do your due diligence and preclear your new med with your program manager, or have written cause from your physician as why he prescribed this med, then its quite proper to add extra conditions on you getting your doses. Do as you are told unless you can get your paperwork straightened out because no program in the country would allow a client to not document and coordinate all medications from any source for any reason.

No doubt your program manager has informed you of this policy, and procedure that must be strictly followed. Even your physician should have been aware of your medical guidelines, unless you didn't tell him you are in a program. If not tell him NOW, and see if he can give you the proper documentation, or a different med. Doesn't matter if this mistake was intentional or willful, but your program manager would be derelict for not taking appropriate actions after your test results.

I don't see what the problem is with getting your doctor to back you up. Have you asked him too? That's all you can do.

You might want to get the opinion of an MRO. A Medical Review Officer is a doctor trained to interpret drug test results and say why something was false positive or false negative. They would also do expert testimony to a judge etc... It might not be cheap. Secondly try to get the prescribing physician to say a few works on your behalf. I am of the same opinion as AntC that the diuretic could make you urinate a lot therefore showing a dilute specimen. The lab I partner with can't test any of the above drugs in hair but that would be the best way to see consistent use over time.
